Call for ESC “VOLUNTEER(S)olidarity” in Agueda, Portugal

Volunteers Centre Skopje is looking for a volunteer from Macedonia to participate in an ESC – project “VOLUNTEER(S)olidarity” in Águeda, Portugal.

Place: Águeda, Portugal

Date: Advance Planning Visit – 16th to 19th of September 2020 | Mobility – 01.10.2020 to 31.07.2021

Psientifica goals for the volunteers:

  • Empower volunteers with new skills and learning based on Non Formal Education
  • Encourage the entrepreneurial, creative and proactive attitude of volunteers
  • Raise awareness among the community and local organizations of the need to foster entrepreneurial attitudes towards the development of the region
  • Recognize the potential of volunteering in the personal and social development of participants
  • Contribute to the improvement of the problems of social exclusion and discrimination and low social participation

Volunteers tasks:

Training period: Mandatory online linguistic support to learn Portuguese, On-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Portuguese National Agency + workshops promoted by the hosting organization, stakeholders and volunteers

  • Developing activities at the Municipal Library with different age groups
  • Activities at the Center of Art: Educational project and public mediation
  • Activities/workshops with children
  • Solidarity in the community with different actions (workshops, free hugs, activities, etc.)
  • Workshops on various topics relevant to the project

Volunteers (age between 18-30 years) should have…

-Youngsters interested in developing social, cultural and educational initiatives and practices, promoting solidarity, interculturality and diversity, with local youths  

-Interested in developing non-formal activities and promoting European values and opportunities– motivation to work with children in schools (primary schools and kindergartens)

-Motivated and open to establishing an intercultural dialogue in a peripheral and rural environment

-Predisposed to develop skills to transform ideas into actions and to stimulate social, cultural and educational activities among young people

Technical Details:

The project is funded by ERASMUS+, so all travel costs (up to 360 euros) will be reimbursed according to ERASMUS+ regulations. Food- and pocket money and accommodation will be provided
