Volunteers Centre Skopje is looking for 10 young people (16-25 years old) from Macedonia who would like to participate in two national trainings delivered by peer trainers for non-discrimination, tolerance and prevention of gender-based violence as well as a training on peer education and training. The training is organized within the project: “Action for Girls’ Rights to Equality, Peace and Security” (Smart Balkans).

Place: Hotel Ambasador, Skopje
About the project:
The selected young people will participate in two national trainings together with young people from all around the country. The purpose of the first training is to raise awareness among young people about anti-discrimination, tolerance, and gender issues including the prevention of gender-based violence. The second training is for peer education and its purpose was to strengthen their capacities for facilitation and delivering trainings to their peers. The participants will become the national trainers – first they will gain the knowledge and skills and then they will practice them when delivering local trainings in Macedonia.
The participants – locally trained activists – will do local trainings and on-field workshops where they can directly reach young local people, especially girls to empower them and inspire the development of local initiatives.
What will the participants gain?
Participants will gain competences in prevention of gender based violence, anti-discrimination and tolerance. At the same time, they will learn methods on how to facilitate and deliver trainings in non-formal education setting. At the end of the trainings, participants will also get two certificates for the attendance and competence gained.
