European Youth at the frontlines of active citizenship

“European Youth at the frontlines of active citizenship: A Roadmap towards a collective South-North-East-West Momentum” is a project organized by Volunteers Centre Skopje and supported by European Commission through programs “Erasmus +” and “European Youth Together”. A total of 25 participants from five European countries (five each from Macedonia, Spain, Cyprus, Denmark and Romania) under the age of 28 were selected to change the society.

How? Through their own ideas and initiatives that will raise awareness of a cleaner environment, health and wellbeing, culture and heritage, social and community issues, education and the lifelong learning process. For the achievement of the planned activities, each participant received a budget of 1,000 euros.

As part of the project, at the beginning of 2020, two major events were organized in Skopje. In the period from 12 to 19 February, a preparatory meeting was held between the coordinators of the five partner countries, while the training course for the selected 25 young participants was conducted from 11 to 20 March.

The final conference planned for November 2020, at which the realized projects were to be presented, has been postponed for spring this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

VCS partners in the project are: “Asociación Mundus” from Spain, “Citizens in power” from Cyprus, “EUCMC” from Denmark and “Young Europe Society” from Romania.
