Improve your community with Skopje SOUP

SOUP is a model that was created a few years ago in Detroit, USA, and is now practiced in almost 200 cities around the world.

It's like a crowd funding from the community to the community, that's giving a chance to the locals to get to know and support each others.

Joining a SOUP is open for everyone! The concept is quite simple, and offers an opportunity for citizens to take part in creating a better society.

Step 1

Audience donates a symbolic fee of 100 denars.

From community to community – all the guests will donate 100 denars when participating to the event. All of this donation goes fully to the winner of the Skopje SOUP, which will help them to implement their project.

Step 2

Four speakers will present their idea to improve community in 4 minutes.

Minimun 2 and maximun 4 pre-selected speakers will have only 4 minutes to present their project idea to the audience – and only trough speaking. Afterwards, the audience has chance to ask 4 questions from each speaker to get more insights of their ideas.

Step 3

Audience votes for the best idea – winner gets the collected money.

Again, everyone has an opportunity to influence! When entering the SOUP event, everyone will get a voting ticket. At the end of the speeches, all the guests will vote which idea they would like to support – later we will announce who got the most votes.

Step 4

We share soup together, and have an opportunity to meet, get to know each other, exchange our ideas...

The heart of SOUP concept is not about the money, nor the winner, it’s about socializing with each other and exchanging ideas. Over enjoying some delicious soup, we will get to know each others from the local community. Maybe you liked an project idea and would like to support the speaker by yourself or with your company? Maybe you have a skill to share with someone? Regardless of the outcome, you can always influence!
