My name is Belen. I am 23 years old. I was born in Turkey and lived there until last week. Now, I have a whole year to live in Macedonia and explore this beautiful country. And I’m so lucky to have these people who make me feel like family from day one. I just finished university. I like learning, meeting new people, dancing and playing the piano.
It is a country that I know a lot about because we have a common history with Macedonia. I look forward to learning about its history, culture and language. I will be volunteering at the day care center in Shutka for a year. Being with the children will be a valuable experience for me. Because I want to have a good influence on their life. And I’m so excited for what they’re going to teach me, too. Because I believe that there are things that I will learn from children and that will broaden my horizons.
I believe that living in a different country will change my life in a positive way. I want to improve myself and be more open-minded. Although it is difficult to leave my safe zone and go to a different country, I am so happy that it will improve me. I want to make good use of my time here. I will have a lot of time to learn new things, read a lot of books and take time for myself. At the same time, I want to help others and add good things to their lives. I hope it will be a wonderful experience for me and everyone whose life I will influence.
