Welcome Ilgin from Türkiye!

Merhaba! I’m Ilgın, a 22-year-old from İzmir, Türkiye’s most beautiful city. 🙂 I recently graduated from Ankara University, where I studied Political Science and Public Administration.

I spent last year abroad in Spain and Brussels for an exchange program and an internship, which I truly enjoyed. These experiences broadened my perspective on life and gave me confidence in my work. One of my biggest dreams is to explore as many countries and cultures as possible.

After completing my studies, I wanted to take some time to explore life before starting my professional career. That’s why I chose to join this volunteering program. This is also my very first visit to the Balkans and to Skopje. I know this experience will give me the chance to discover not only the city but also myself.

I would describe my hobbies simply as “trying new things.” I love yoga, running, reading, staying active, and taking lots of photos. I have always been interested in art and museums. Throughout my studies, I actively took part in debates and theatre.

I also enjoy exploring new cities, films, and music. Especially discovering different cultures, cuisines, and traditions. I am even looking forward to experiencing my first kafana. :))

I consider myself a warm-hearted person, and I already feel connected with the welcoming people here. I’m sure that this month will be full of wonderful experiences and teamwork. I believe this journey will be rewarding both for me and for those I’ll work with.

Let’s begin!
