Hi, I am Berna. I am 20 years old and this is my first Erasmus related project. I am a 1st year economics student at Galatasaray University in Istanbul, Turkey. I study economics in French and it is a completely new perspective to an interesting field such as economics. This also helps me get more of a European point of view to my major.

I haven’t volunteered much in the past but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone by doing something new and exciting. I am happy to be part of a bigger picture and to be giving out something to the world in general.

I am passionate about languages and music. I play the violin although I am not very good at it. I like trying new things just for the sake of it, and I like working hard on them until I get better. In my free time I do Aikido which is a defensive martial art and I enjoy it quite a lot. I also like to set sail occasionally, the sea helps one clear their mind. I also am a food enthusiast, whenever I get the chance I try different cuisines and compare the tastes in my mind.

I hope to get acquainted with different cultures and hopefully teach others about my culture by joining this project. I am excited to be a part of VCS family.
