Two out of 40 volunteers and first to present are Wilhelm and Yohann. They may be of different personalities, but what they have in common is passion for sport. Just the perfect to volunteer at European Youth Olympic Festival 2025!

Wilhelm Verwaerde, 23

Wilhelm is a wandering spirit and introvert but also loves to make other people laugh and act as kind of a “class clown”. Apart from that he is very curious and loves to learn new things just as much as sharing his knowledge with others.

Among his greatest interests are tracking and hiking because the feeling of experiencing nature first hand and being alone in the wilderness is something very special for him. When he is not out and about for a walk, you may find him reading books, wikidiving (mostly about mythology all around the world), playing video and board games or practicing martial arts.

He is a passionate talker and dancer. His superpowers are his inexhaustible knowledge of fun facts and fresh freestyle dance moves.

Yohann Kotas, 28

Yohann is a very calm person that does not get stressed easily and prefers to take life’s challenges the easy-going way.

He loves doing sports of all kinds but foremost playing football, basketball or French boxing. Other than that he loves to hang out with friends and is always up for a beer. If you are lucky, you may find him playing the guitar and singing French songs.

One of his biggest passions is music and especially French rap as he has already given concerts and was part of a band before. His superpower is his voice that manages both to keep up with fast-paced rap and intricate melodies.
