Hi everyone,

I am Marcel from Poland, and I am 19 years old. I’m so excited to be in Skopje! First of all, I want to experience what it’s like to be a volunteer, and for me, the best option to start my volunteering adventure is to do it abroad. By regularly writing and speaking, I will improve my English and have the opportunity to meet new people from foreign countries and learn about their cultures. 

When I first arrived in Skopje, I was kindly greeted by other volunteers and the leaders of the VCS team. I will be staying in Macedonia for the next nine months and I am extremely happy to be here. 

To be honest, I have been eagerly waiting for a long time to travel and visit this place. One of my neighbors in Poland is Macedonian and is familiar with VCS. He told me more about the possibilities for my stay here.

During my project, I will focus on writing articles about various topics, but I am also excited to participate in many local events and activities of VCS, such as those in Shuto Orizari, where I will have the opportunity to experience the traditions of the Roma people in greater depth.

Speaking about my goals for this period, I want to develop my journalism skills as I plan to pursue journalism studies in the future.

During my free time, I love playing volleyball and football, as well as spending time with friends.
