Salut! I’m Youna. I’m 24 years old and I come from the best region of France, Brittany, more precisely from Rennes. I will stay in Macedonia for 3 months to enjoy the fresh air of summer (this is a joke). I finished my master’s degree in Geography and Environment last September and searched for a loooong time for an opportunity to live abroad. This is how I found Volunteers Centre Skopje (VCS)! I was looking for a volunteer project in the Balkans, and Macedonia came to me (the best country in the world as they say here).
Being a volunteer abroad seems to be a great way to discover a country but also to discover more about myself. Living with Macedonians, working with them, but also with other foreigners volunteers is the main reason I have decided to apply.
I’m here during the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), because all hands will be needed with the organisation of the event. Seeing all the enthusiasm of the Paris Olympic Games last year in France encouraged me to take part in the EYOF. I love sports, practising but also watching it, so I think organising sport events is the next step for me.
More about me, I would say that I’m really curious. I love learning new things, about everything! I love being outside, with my friends and even better, if there is food. So I can’t wait to go to kafana!
