Hi, I’m Eylül. I’m from Türkiye, and I’m 22 years old. I recently graduated with a degree in International Relations and Political Science, just one week before coming to Macedonia.

Throughout my last semester at university, I kept wondering what I would be doing over the summer. Should I pursue a master’s degree or get lost in the competition of the job market? But as the song goes, life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.

I enjoy reading, discovering new places, traveling, and meeting new people—even if it’s just for a five-minute conversation. I also have a slightly unhealthy obsession with nostalgia. Quite often, while I’m living a moment, I already know I’m going to miss it someday. That’s probably why I love preserving memories through scrapbooks, and recently I’ve also gotten into film photography. 

During my final semester, I took a course on politics and society in the Balkans. It wasn’t a class filled only with theories; instead, we explored the region through the experiences and stories of our professor, who had spent many years there. His perspective sparked my curiosity and inspired me to come here and create my own experiences. Even though I won’t be here for long, I’m determined to make the most of every moment.
