Hi! I am Carolina, a French-Brazilian 21 years-old living in Paris.

After studying history and art history I wanted to discover different parts of the world and their people. Taking a gap year and volunteering seemed like a great opportunity to do so!

I just stepped foot on Macedonian soil two days ago and I can already feel the rich history of this country through its landscape, architecture and people.

The Balkan countries seem to be unique in the way different cultures blend to create their own identity.

It might be slightly influenced by my studies, but to me, art is the best way to understand the soul of a country and its history!

I will only stay two months, therefore I really look forward to catching some sounds in the streets, words written on the walls and exploring museums.

There is a very famous French saying : “travel shapes the youth”. And it does. It is about the experiences, the people you meet and the friends you make along the way that make you see the world differently from whom you learn and grow.

I look forward to what is coming!
