Today, I want to give you some tips and recommendations: once you’ve decided you want to volunteer, do some research. It’s nice if you have some kind of idea about where you want to go and what kind of project you want to work on. Find a project you like, do some research and apply. Mind you, the first one is probably not going to be successful but you shouldn’t give up. There are plenty of options and the right one will turn up in time. Prepare all your documents and when you get selected embrace the new experience.
Let’s be real: Don’t be afraid, you’ll get to meet new people, a new culture and language. I’ve been here for a month now and I’ve already started my Spanish lessons, visited Madrid and two national parks and organized an activity with my hosting organization. I love the project I’m working on and I’m looking forward to doing so for the rest of the year J I would like to end with: just go for it!!! Remember to use every opportunity you’re given to travel and meet new people and don’t be afraid of new things. After all, we only live once. ¡Saludos de España!
