EVS in Toledo

Hi, my name is Nikola Spasovski. I am 20 years old and I am a student of Spanish language and literature and the Faculty of philology in Skopje. In November last year I saw an urgent call for a volunteer. Without a second thought I applied and right now I am in Toledo, Castile-La Mancha (the region where Don Quixote started his journey in order to change the world). I’ve been here for a month already and I am living by a family that offers accommodation to foreign students, so I have the opportunity to meet new cultures besides the Spanish. I am a volunteer at “CECAP” an organization whose goal is to make everyday life easier for the people with disabilities and to help their integration into society. My work as a volunteer consists of going to the gym with these people; help them to do the free-time activities etc. I also took part in the preparations for the carnival that took place on the 6th of February. I am doing this stuff with the help of two other volunteers, one from France and one from Macedonia. By this project I won’t only bring my Spanish to perfection but I will also gain experience that will be useful for the work as a teacher of Spanish. In my opinion an EVS project is the best thing that can happen to you while you are young. It lets you meet new people and discover new horizons.
