“I am one of the lucky people that got to participate in the youth exchange “I want my tears back” in Buzau, Romania. I am happy to say this was one of the best experiences I have had, and for multiple reasons.
It’s not a shame to admit that the situation in Macedonia regarding discrimination is not the best, looking from an educational perspective but, as well, seeing the amount of discrimination that people have to deal with on a daily basis. This is exactly why the project was extremely important to me, as now I am more educated on the topic. We precisely know now what discrimination is, how to spot it, and how to deal with it.
People I met there were amazing, likeminded individuals who allowed me to expand my horizons sharing their point of view on diversity and discrimination. Through the various workshops and activities, I learned the ins and outs of the topic, and now I can confidently say that, besides being well-educated on the topic, I can take action back home.
Overall, it was an amazing, eye-opening experience that I think anyone would enjoy, and I would recommend everyone to have their go at it and see what it’s all about!”
The project took place in Sarata Monteoru, Buzau, Romania from 22.10 to 1.11.2025. The aim of the project was to increase awareness of youngsters on problems created by discrimination against minorities.
