Cześć! My name is Dawid and I’m 23 years old. I come from southern Poland but since early childhood I have lived in the United Kingdom. In 2023, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Geography and since graduating I have taken a break from studying.

I decided to join VCS because it stood out to me as a NGO located in the heart of an urban space. I want to enjoy everything that Skopje has to offer whilst creating opportunities for the local youth and helping to address ongoing issues in the city. On top of this, I have very fond memories of my previous trips to the Balkans, and being here as a volunteer (and not a tourist) is something I am very excited to experience.

I want to take this opportunity to see and experience as much as I can, both in Skopje and in the region. As a fan of brutalist architecture, I want to understand the legacy of the city’s history through its buildings and urban fabric. Since my hiking shoes took half of my luggage space, I will also try to use them as much as possible in my spare time!

Outside of that, I’m in love with music and coffee, which I crave the moment I wake up each morning. You will find me talking about my travels at any possible opportunity. I feel my best when I spend time with like-minded people, and I hope to find this comfort in our VCS family 🙂
