Meet our new French VET student!

Hi! I’m Lilou from Saint-Sever in France. I’ve just finished my studies in social and socio-cultural activities (a social careers diploma called BUT) in Bordeaux. Before starting job research, I wanted to do an internship abroad. So here I am, in Macedonia (the best country in the world according to Macedonians 😉), to explore professional work and discover things about myself!

Before talking about my experience here let me introduce myself!

My friends will say I’m outgoing, and they’re right. I like to know new people, cities, cultures, and generally new things. What I like most is to share things with people like our passions, and our histories, but obviously, as French, I love to share drinks of beer (or wine sometimes) 😉. I’m a very passionate person so I like doing a lot of things but what I like most is artistic things. I’ve practised dance for 14 years (I ended this year 🥲). It was different types of dance like salsa, flamenco, pop dance, reggeaton, Russian dance, oriental dance, cabaret, musical comedy, etc (it’s quite a lot). I’ve also practised theatre for 4 years and impro theatre (during my studies in Bordeaux) for 3 years. I will say dance and theatre are my first passions, but I also like going to see movies, reading books, going outside with my friends for drinks or just being together!

My outgoing personality permits me to be confident in doing this three-month internship. I’m really happy to be here, I hope I will be able to bring and share my knowledge and experiences of social work here, but also to discover it in Macedonia with different contexts, cultures, and ways to work. This sharing of experiences can only enrich and develop my professional practice to be better equipped and more confident later. Also, this experience will make me grow up, and get to know myself better!

I’m here for a few days and I already like this city, I know I will be in my place here! 😉
