Moi!

My name is Anniina. I’m 23 years old, and I come from Finland.
I’ve been living in Finland my whole life, but now I have found this new adventure which I’m so excited about. Now I finally arrived here in Macedonia. And I already love it!

I have a lovely family and amazing friends in Finland, and I had a great job there. Still, I wondered “why do I feel something is missing in my life.” I really wanted to find this missing piece and fill it. I love to travel and see new cultures, so I joined the Facebook group where they were looking for international workers. And there it was… this post about volunteering, Skopje Macedonia. Suddenly I was at a Zoom meeting and got so excited about this opportunity here. I was a little bit afraid, but then I just decided that I would do this, and here I am.

I think this trip will give me so much. Whole new country, new people, different kinds of food and working with amazing people. I can’t wait to tell all my friends what I have experienced and learned here. I hope that if someone dreams of working internationally but is afraid to do that, will try anyway. Just go for it, and I promise you will not regret it.
