European Citizenship as a Way to Foster Social Cohesion and European Integration

During the training- energizers, sessions, team work, hanging out- I gained knowledge in life that you cannot learn from books. Rather, you read living books. We had ten of them on our training library and me, Sanja and Filip were chapters in the Macedonian one, merging with the Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Bosnian, Turkish, Estonian, German, Albanian and Kosovan made a combination of knowledge, skills, experiences and personalities. Thus, we defined European Citizenship as a mental concept of equality through our cultural experiences. In addition, we recognized several dimensions of social exclusion as unemployment, unequal access to education, political and social life etc through our personal experiences. But what makes the difference is that we offered possible solutions by our own project management. The training filled us with positive energy and enthusiasm and raised our awareness so that we can act when we go back by participation from the local to the European level. Take a minute after work and think about exclusion. Take another minute until you realize you are surrounded by it. And do something about it. You can’t be neutral on a moving train. by Tara Petkovska
