The project "AGREE! – ACTION FOR GIRLS’ RIGHTS TO EQUALITY AND EMPOWERMENT!" aims to support and encourage civil society participation and influence in upholding women’s and girls’ rights, combating discrimination, promoting regional cooperation, and strengthening social cohesion in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The project partners will achieve this through capacity building, networking, and advocacy initiatives aimed at advancing gender equality and empowering girls.
Through the project we will establish a Regional Network of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and strengthen national CSO networks to:
Engage in evidence-based advocacy and lobbying,
Collaborate and form partnerships with other networks and consortia at the national, regional, EU, and global levels, and
Support national, local, and grassroots CSOs in designing, testing, and promoting local initiatives, as well as in enhancing their quality, accountability, and fundraising capabilities to expand their impact and reach.
Project is focused on gender equality and is addressing inequality challenges including gender stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination and peer gender-based violence (GBV)/Cyber Violence Against Women and Girls (CVAWG).
It will be implemented through the following approach:
Establishing a Regional Network across all Western Balkan (WB) countries and Turkey (TR) to promote girls’ rights to empowerment and equality. This network will also include and empower boys and girls from diverse backgrounds, such as those in foster care, Roma and other minority groups, the LGBTIQ community, people of varying abilities, and survivors of intimate peer GBV.
Developing or Strengthening National CSO Networks dedicated to advocating for girls’ empowerment and participation at the country level.
Building the Capacity of CSOs to collaborate on gender equality initiatives and to prevent peer GBV both online and offline. This includes improving their organizational management, implementing gender-responsive budgeting, ensuring transparency and accountability, refining fundraising strategies, and providing sub-grants to support their work.
