My name is Emrecan. I am 26 years old. I am based in Türkiye. My passion for languages has been growing for years which didn’t occur to me at that time.
I used to watch a lot of old Western films as a kid. I was charmed by how the individuals participated in the conversations. I discovered that I was paying attention to the cadence of the language. That time may have marked the beginning of my devoted connection with languages. This curiosity transformed into a distinct academic focus over time. I eventually hopped into English Linguistics, where I was able to study language from a different aspect. Through the study of linguistics, I figured that language influences communication, culture, and human interaction.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have always enjoyed reading and creating essays. I enjoy discovering new ideas, and communicating them in a way that others may find interesting and easy to grasp. For me, writing serves as a means of putting the ideas out there and forming relationships with others. I would say that I have excellent communicative skills and a nonstop curiosity about individuals and the world. I feel blessed to meet with new people, learn about different viewpoints, and adjust to new environments. Teamwork is important to me as well. In a team, viewpoints can be extended, and initiatives can take on greater significance.
I wanted to join VCS and the VOICES initiative for this reason. Multicultural environments are appealing because they foster community among individuals from various backgrounds and provide them the forum to be who they are. Allowing people to share their experiences foster an atmosphere where individuals may learn how to listen, and work toward unity in a secure environment. Being a part of this project entails more than just writing. It’s a chance to bond with different voices, think outside the box, and contribute to the platform where individuals feel heard. I believe that’s one of the most fundamental accomplishments of communication.
