Hi, I’m Johanna from Frankfurt, Germany. For the next 8 months, I will be volunteering at VCS. I am excited to work with all the other volunteers on writing, organizing events, and working with children.

In my free time, I am interested in all kinds of culture, whether it is going to the museum to see fancy art or binge-watching crappy TV shows. I like going to events, discussing books and movies, preferably with good coffee. I also played the violin in my school orchestra and danced for many years, first modern dance, then ballet.

After finishing high school, I wanted to do something different, and I stumbled across VCS. Especially because I didn’t have any connection to Macedonia, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to experience culture in a whole new way.

Now, after just one day, I am taken in by a new world of Cyrillic writing in an unknown language, chaotic streets, and super nice people. So I am gonna let myself fall into this city and experience Macedonia to the fullest.
