Marija Ristova

Challenge 1: Changemaker Story

My name is Marija Ristova and I am just an ordinary student in a small town in Macedonia, Kavadarci. I am studying in a high school and my aim is to make my voice and my actions about raising awareness be heard. The challenges that I am facing right now are: COVID19, the weather that is unpredictable and also a lot of people that the project will benefit from. In a year from now I personally don’t think that anything would change, but with this project that I am hoping will succeed, the world could have one little change and maybe it will inspire people to do better.  In two years from now I will have already finished this project and also will be in college. I will also pursue to do projects like this and maybe even be known as an environmentalist. I want all of you to look around and think about the environment you live in and realize that you can make changes for the better.

Challenge 2: Interview

How I will change society: Marija Ristova

Let’s raise awareness about environment

Marija Ristova from Kavadarci is studying in a high school, but her aim is to make her voice and actions about raising awareness be heard. She is making a project for caring environment in her native town hoping that can change things for better.

Why did you choose this particular topic for your project?

– Since I was a little girl I always cared for the environment and when I looked through the five topics that were given to us, obviously the “Environment and Sustainability” caught my attention.

What are your expectations for this project?

– When I start the project I want as many people to come and participate in it and take action together. But when I finish this project I expect people to be touched and take action as we did.

There are different ways that you could prepare your project, why did you choose this one?

– Because I plan to do this with many people, not just myself so as to attract attention and raise awareness. The more people taking part, the faster we get recognized.

With everything going on around us right now, do you think there will be some difficulties in your way?

– I hope not, but as the situation is with the virus I think my project will be prolonged because we won’t be able to gather in groups. Also there is a probability that some of the trees won’t grow, because I will be doing this later on then I expected.

Do you have something to say to the people that want to change something but are not too confident?

– They should believe in themselves and they can join an organization or participate in a project that will help them to make their dream a reality, just as I did.

Challenge 3: Plan your presentation and messaging

Physical meeting:

Key Messages: clean, plant and BE creative

First I’II introduce myself to the others and then I’ll tell them what I am working on. Then I will tell them the plans of my project. After this I will make a game/quiz about the environment (ice-breaker). Then I will tell them what our goal is and that we want to make our town a better place to live in, but most importantly to prove that young people like us, can make a change in the community as well. At the end I will leave it up to them to ask me questions that they want me to answer.

Target audience: My target audience for the presentation is a group of peers.

Invitation: My invitation will be through social medias

Ice-breaker(s): Games connected with the environment

Presentation content: The presentation from the agenda

Virtual meeting:

“Don’t just speak up, take actions.”

Challenge 5: Communicating with target audiences

Potential institutional support: Eco-Life Kavadarci, the Mayor of Kavadarci and one of his companies if possible.

What would they want to hear?

– They would probably want to hear that I want to do something that the city will benefit from.
– That I want to make people think rational.

What would they want to see?

– They would want to see my ideas for the project and
– They would also want to see if there is a potential leader in me, so I have to present myself in the best way possible.
