Ramona: On-arrival training in Sarajevo (5th – 10th November)

Because we were 43 volunteers from all over the Balkans they had to split us into 2 groups. It was a pity but we used our free time to get to know the others during the coffee breaks, lunch and dinner. But not only that! The trainers told us first day that this event was made for us to relax too. We were in a 4 star hotel with swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna, a lot of food, comfortable bed, heating… For those who had bad conditions on their project this was like holiday. For me it was more like wellness week with great people. During the day we had sessions about how to solve problems, what we can expect from EVS, how to learn and use EVS as a service etc. The last day we went to a bar with life music in the city centre where everybody was dancing and saying last goodbye. On the way back to Skopje we had even time to travel a bit so we saw nice places like Mostar, Dubrovnik and Herceg Novi. Finally after a long way by bus I am finally at ‘home’ ready to work again with a great feeling that my organization takes care of us very well. After I heard a lot of stories I think we are really lucky to have a project in VCS 🙂
